Looking for an Observe.AI alternative?

Observe.AI is a US-headquartered conversation intelligence product strong in mid-market BPOs. CallGuard AI is built UK-first for FCA Consumer Duty, contact centres and BPOs that want to embed scoring into their own systems via REST. This page is the honest comparison.

Observe.AI is a serious product with real strengths.

We are not going to slate Observe.AI. They have invested heavily in conversation intelligence over several years and they have meaningful traction with US contact centres and mid-market BPOs. Four things they do genuinely well:

Agent coaching automation at scale

Their coaching and enablement product is a polished part of the platform. Coaching cards, tracker libraries, onboarding workflows for agents. If your priority is scaled agent enablement rather than compliance scoring, that is what they lead with.

Sentiment and intent classification

Their sentiment models and intent taxonomy have been refined over many deployments. For traditional contact-centre analytics use cases (CSAT-driver analysis, churn-risk signals, tone-of-voice trends), they have library depth.

Strong US market presence

If you operate in the US BPO market and your buyers expect a vendor with high G2 visibility, conference presence and US enterprise references, Observe.AI is well-positioned.

Workforce engagement integrations

Integrations with Workday, Salesforce Service Cloud, NICE workforce-engagement-management and similar HR / WEM platforms are well-documented in their stack.

Observe.AI is built for the US contact centre, not the UK regulator.

The same things that make Observe.AI strong in US BPO motions can leave UK FCA-regulated firms feeling underserved. Four differences worth weighing:

FCA Consumer Duty framing is not the headline

Their compliance framing is generic. The Consumer Duty outcomes a call can evidence, ICOBS 5 demands-and-needs checks (and suitability where advice is given) and FG21/1 vulnerability indicators are achievable but not native vocabulary in the platform. UK compliance teams want a vendor who leads with their regulator's words.

How each one is calibrated

Observe.AI's Auto QA is tuned through its own evaluation set-up, including natural-language definitions your team writes and refines. CallGuard AI shows the AI your compliance officer's corrections: up to five of the most recent on a criterion are shown as examples the next time it scores that criterion.

Embedding scoring in your own UI

Observe.AI's results live primarily in their dashboard. Pulling per-call scores out via REST to render inside your own CRM or agent desktop is achievable but not the headline integration story. CallGuard AI's REST API is two calls: post a recording, then fetch its scored result as JSON.

Priced by product

Observe.AI sells its platform as separate products, such as Real-Time AI and Post-Interaction AI, on a custom quote. CallGuard AI has three plans, quoted per seat, and what each one includes is on the plans page.

Pick the right tool for your actual situation.

Pick Observe.AI if

You operate primarily in the US BPO market, your priority is agent coaching and enablement at scale rather than compliance scoring, and your procurement department prefers a vendor with strong US references.

Pick CallGuard AI if

You are FCA-regulated or operate primarily in UK markets, you want customer data stored in the UK with a published DPA and sub-processor list, you want per-tenant AI calibration that's shown your compliance officer's corrections as scoring examples, and you want to fetch scores over REST for your own CRM or agent desktop.

Common questions, answered.

Does CallGuard AI do agent coaching like Observe.AI?

Yes. Each scored call produces a coaching draft for the agent, and on calls scored individually, coaching memory means each draft is written with that agent's last three coaching drafts in view, rather than repeating a template. We do not do the broader workforce-enablement and onboarding-workflow product Observe.AI ships, because compliance scoring is our headline use case. If you specifically need a coaching LMS feel, Observe.AI may fit better.

What data residency does CallGuard AI offer?

Customer data (audio, transcripts and scores) is stored in the UK, in the AWS London region. Some sub-processors process it outside the UK, including transcription and the AI model in the United States, and every one of them is on our published sub-processor list. Our UK GDPR Article 28 DPA is at /dpa.

Is CallGuard AI suitable for a US BPO?

Architecturally yes. The scorecard is yours, so it can hold checks written for US rules such as TCPA, FDCPA and mini-Miranda, and a single scorecard library can hold several regimes side by side. Practically, our default UK-first orientation may feel like a poorer fit if your buyers expect heavy US enterprise references. If you are running cross-Atlantic operations, talk to us.

What does the migration look like?

If your call recordings live in S3, SFTP or a CCaaS archive, we can pick them up over SFTP or you can push them in through our REST API, and we score them. Most QA scorecards are already a list of per-criterion checks, which is the shape CallGuard AI scores against, so you share your scorecard and we set it up with you. There is no integration project to begin.

Can I run CallGuard AI alongside Observe.AI?

Yes. You can keep one platform for agent enablement and use the other for compliance scoring. Both consume the same call recordings. We are not religious about being the only vendor on your floor.
