Looking for a Recordsure alternative?

Recordsure, part of TCC Group, has spent years capturing and reviewing regulated conversations in UK wealth management: record the meeting, including face-to-face ones, assess it afterwards, and hand the file-review team the riskiest cases first. CallGuard AI is telephony-first, with live breach detection on streamed calls, whole sale journeys scored as one compliance unit, and plans quoted per seat for your team. This is the honest comparison, including the parts where Recordsure does something we do not.

Recordsure has track record we cannot claim.

Recordsure is a UK company built for UK regulated firms, so there is no US-versus-UK argument to make here and we are not going to invent one. They are longer established in this market than we are, and there is one capability they have that we genuinely lack. Four things they do well:

Face-to-face capture, which we do not have

Recordsure's Capture products, including a Capture App, create a reliable audio record of in-person meetings for evidencing. CallGuard AI covers telephony, live streams and uploaded recordings only. A native mobile capture layer for field sales is on our roadmap, and a roadmap is not a shipped product.

A long record in UK wealth management

They position themselves as proven in wealth management and sit inside TCC Group, a firm the UK advice market already knows. Newer vendors, ourselves included, have to ask you to trust them; Recordsure can point at years of doing this work instead.

Public-sector and institutional credibility

Their customers include UK government bodies such as the Home Office and UK Visas and Immigration alongside major financial institutions, with UK-based data storage running on Microsoft Azure. That is a due-diligence pack most suppliers in this category cannot assemble.

File review built for file-review teams

ReviewAI is aimed squarely at the people who review advice files: suitability assessments, compliance evidence, and risk-ranked cases that replace random sampling with a queue of the files most likely to be wrong. If your unit of work is the file rather than the call, that is the right shape of tool.

Review tells you what happened. Live detection checks as it happens.

Recordsure's centre of gravity is post-conversation: capture it, assess it, route it to a reviewer. That is exactly right for file review. Checking a phone call for breaches while it is still in progress is a different job. Five differences worth weighing:

Breach detection on streamed calls

On streamed calls (Pro plan), CallGuard AI re-checks the rolling transcript for breaches every 30 seconds and sends a webhook, HMAC-signed once you set a signing secret, to your CRM or agent desktop only when the model's confidence that a criterion has already failed is 0.75 or higher. The call itself is scored after it ends. Live detection is breach detection, not scoring, and it is a different job from review.

No implementation project

Share your scorecard and we set up your account. We put a DPA in place before you share any real recordings, and connecting a dialler can follow once you are happy with the results.

Dialler-native ingestion

A built connector for CloudTalk, SFTP pickup of your dialler's own recording export, and a REST API for pushing recording URLs. On the Pro plan, calls can also stream in live from Twilio Media Streams, from Amazon Connect through a small Lambda bridge you run, or over a generic WebSocket protocol. You can start on recordings with no integration project.

Evidence, not opinion

Each scorecard criterion returns pass or fail with the transcript evidence it was decided on, or a note that none was found. A reviewer can agree or overturn without relistening to the whole call, and the evidence for the audit file is assembled as a by-product rather than as a separate task.

Scoring shown your firm's own corrections

When your compliance officer overturns a verdict, that correction becomes one of up to five recent examples the AI sees the next time it scores that criterion, for your firm alone — so the AI sees how your firm has read "suitable" and "clearly explained" before, not only the scorecard's words. They are examples, not rules: it can still reach a different verdict on a call that genuinely differs.

Pick the right tool for your actual situation.

Pick Recordsure if

Advice happens across the table as well as down the phone and you need in-person meetings captured. Your unit of work is the advice file rather than the call, you have a file-review team and a procurement process to match, and what you want from AI is a defensible record and a risk-ranked review queue rather than intervention during the conversation.

Pick CallGuard AI if

Your regulated conversations happen on the phone, you want live breach detection on streamed calls as well as review after the call, and you want a multi-call sale judged as one compliance unit with the transcript evidence each verdict was decided on, or a note that none was found. You are a smaller or mid-sized firm, you want a quoted plan sized to your team, and you want no integration project standing between you and your first scored calls.

Common questions, answered.

Can CallGuard AI record face-to-face meetings?

No. We handle telephony, live streamed calls and uploaded recordings. A native mobile capture layer for field sales is on our roadmap, and a roadmap is not a shipped product. If capturing in-person advice meetings is a requirement today, Recordsure's Capture App does that and we do not.

Do you do file review as well as call scoring?

Not in the sense a file-review team means it. Our unit of work is the call, or the multi-call sale journey, rather than the whole advice file with its documents and adviser notes. The closest thing we offer is Reconciliation, listed on the Pro plan and switched on for your firm by our team, which checks what the customer told your rep on the call against the answers submitted on their behalf on the application, and flags the answers that do not match. If your review process is document-led, ReviewAI is built for that shape of work and we are not.

How does pricing compare?

Neither of us publishes a price, so either way a quote starts with a conversation. CallGuard AI's Starter, Growth and Pro plans are quoted per seat for your team size, with volume discounts and no multi-year minimum. What each plan includes is on the plans page.

Can you score recordings we already hold?

Yes. Upload recordings one at a time in the dashboard, import a CSV of up to 200 recording URLs at a time, poll an SFTP location, or push recordings over our REST API, and we will score a back book for an audit or a remediation exercise. Historic calls are scored after the fact against the same scorecard as your other recorded calls: a pass or fail per criterion, with the transcript evidence it was decided on, or a note that none was found.

Can we run CallGuard AI alongside Recordsure?

Yes, and for some firms that is the sensible answer. Recordsure covers meeting capture and the file-review workflow; CallGuard AI sits over the phone estate as the scoring and evidence layer. The two are not competing for the same job, and neither one needs to own all of your audio for the other to be useful.
